Online Therapy

Unresolved childhood trauma has a lingering impact. You may look back on certain events or relationships and feel overwhelmed by painful emotions, hurtful memories, and confusion. You might struggle to set boundaries, honor your values and preferences, express your needs, or be kind to yourself. Painful childhood experiences might also be a reason you feel stuck in a pattern with relationships, manage stress in unhealthy ways, or struggle with perfectionism and shame. Whatever your story, I'm glad you are here. You deserve to heal, to feel safe, to be the one who decides how your life goes moving forward.

As a relational trauma and shame specialist, I will help you build empathy and tenderness for how you’ve tried to survive traumatic events. I pride myself on helping clients connect the dots and have those "aha" moments. My approach is warm, supportive, and judgment-free. I am also an Internal Family Systems trained therapist if you are curious about IFS therapy.

If you're ready to take a step towards reclaiming your life, feeling more empowered, and healing old wounds, let's chat. I offer a complimentary 20-minute video consultation and would be honored to do this work together.

I provide online therapy in most states in the US, as well as several countries in the Middle East. I have dedicated my career to helping people like you create more meaningful relationships, overall fulfillment, and self-compassion. I've got more information about my approach below and can't wait to meet you!

Reach out for a free 20-minute virtual consultation, and we can begin as soon as possible. I would love to help you move forward in your healing process and gain a sense of clarity, balance, and overall well-being.

Some FAQs about therapy with me:

What is the investment for sessions with you?
The initial 60-minute intake session is $210. Regular 50-minute sessions after that are $175.
All individual therapy is done through Simple Practice, a HIPAA-compliant video platform.

Where do you see clients?

As of 2024, I hold an Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT), which allows me to see clients in most states. Here is a map that explains more. I am also licensed in Louisiana, so although it does not participate in the PsyPact, I am able to see clients there as well. Many of my clients live in the Arab world, and we easily work across the time zones. My practice is strictly virtual, allowing much more ease of access and flexibility for you.

Do you take insurance?

I do not. Insurance companies require a diagnosis, can dictate frequency and duration of your treatment, and may also audit your private record. Many of my clients are executives, attorneys, or other professionals who would like to maintain a higher level of privacy. By not taking insurance, I am also able to maintain a smaller caseload, which means I give the fullest extent of my energy and dedication to each of my clients. Rather than spend my time on the phone with insurance companies, I can spend my time on our relationship and my clinical advancement.

If you would like to try and use your insurance benefits, you can ask them what their rate of reimbursement is for an out-of-network therapist. You would pay the session fee directly to me, and I will then provide you with a superbill with the information you need to submit a claim.

How often will we do sessions?

For most people, I recommend starting weekly. This allows us to gain the most traction and build rapport -- and help you feel better, sooner.
Many people eventually move to meeting every other week. I also have several "long-term" clients who like to stay on top of their mental well-being with bi-monthly or monthly maintenance sessions.
We will of course discuss this more in depth during your initial consultation and continue to check-in with each other over the course of therapy.

What type of client do you see?

Great question! I see all kinds of people, from all walks of life in my practice and pride myself on an affirming, everyone-is-welcome-here approach. I specialize in shame, perfectionism, and codependency, and I find most people benefit from an approach rooted in discovering patterns in their lives. People with a trauma history, adult children of immigrants, and people who tend to be really hard on themselves often reach out to me, as do those wanting therapy for religious deconstruction, infertility, body image issues, or identity struggles.

How would you describe your therapy style?

Here's a not-so-secret: all of the research clearly indicates that the best predictor of your outcomes in therapy is your relationship with your therapist. My main goal in therapy is to help you feel heard, understood, and cared for. I believe it is my job to meet you where you are, without judgment. I also believe it is my job to do more than nod and say "mm-hmm." If you are looking for a therapist who is warm, supportive, loves both a good laugh and a good cry, and also gives you honest feedback, we might be a good match. I know it is a huge investment of your time and finances to engage in therapy, and I want to honor that by being as helpful and engaged as possible. I draw on relational, dynamic, and trauma-informed practices, and I will often check in to see how things are going for you.

What are your qualifications?

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology, and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. I also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Tulane University and was hired by the Tulane Counseling Center after completing my fellowship.

I am licensed by the Oklahoma State Board of Examiners of Psychologists (License #1388), the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists (License #38193), and the Louisiana State Board of Examiners of Psychologists (License #1336).

I worked in residential facilities, private and state hospitals, university counseling centers, community mental health centers, and intensive outpatient facilities prior to venturing into private practice. I have also developed group curriculums and workshops for many of these settings, other businesses, and schools. My work has been featured in online publications, and I have been the guest on several podcasts and news segments.
